More than a classifieds page

FishBSE brings together the local aquarium community, marketplace tools, secure online checkout, seller payouts, shipping visibility, and auctions in one place.

What is FishBSE?

FishBSE.com is an aquarium marketplace established in 2024. We connect aquarists, breeders, coral growers, shops, and hobbyists so they can discover livestock, equipment, local listings, shipped items, and auctions.

Why We Exist

The aquarium hobby is stronger when people can connect directly. FishBSE is designed to help hobbyists discover healthy livestock, find equipment, support other keepers, and keep more activity inside the aquarium community.

How It Works

Create a profile, browse or publish a listing, connect with other hobbyists, choose local or supported online transaction options, track activity from your dashboard, and use FishBSE's marketplace tools from listing through completion.

Marketplace trust

FishBSE tools + Stripe payment infrastructure

Trust is not one feature. It comes from clear records, transparent marketplace activity, secure payment handling, communication tools, reporting tools, and giving buyers and sellers visibility into what is happening with a transaction.

Secure online payment processing through Stripe

For supported marketplace purchases and auction payments, payment information is processed through Stripe's payment infrastructure. FishBSE provides the marketplace experience, transaction records, order workflow, and community tools around the payment.

PAYMENTS

Stripe-powered checkout

Supported online transactions use Stripe for payment processing instead of asking users to exchange card details directly with another marketplace member.

SELLERS

Seller payouts

Eligible sellers can connect through Stripe Connect so marketplace payment and payout activity can follow a structured online transaction flow.

RECORDS

Clear transaction history

Buyers and sellers can use FishBSE order records and dashboard tools to follow the progress of supported marketplace purchases instead of relying only on private messages.

SHIPPING

Shipping visibility

Supported orders can include shipment status and tracking information so buyers and sellers have a clearer record of fulfillment.

DOCUMENTATION

Private shipping documentation

FishBSE supports private sharing of shipping receipts or label information between the participants in a transaction when that documentation is needed.

COMMUNITY SAFETY

Reporting and issue tools

Members can report listings, users, or transaction concerns, helping FishBSE maintain accountability and giving the community a way to surface problems.

FishBSE Auctions

Structured bidding built around clear commitments

FishBSE auctions are designed to keep bidding, closing, winner payment, and conduct rules inside one marketplace workflow. Bidders should review the complete auction and seller terms before bidding; sellers should publish accurate terms they are prepared to honor.

Accepted bids are commitments

Entering an amount is not enough by itself. FishBSE re-checks the live auction on the server, and a bid becomes part of the auction only after FishBSE accepts it. Accepted bids should be treated as purchase commitments.

Stripe payment authorization

Eligible bidders may be required to set up an authorized card through Stripe before bidding. Payment setup is not a purchase by itself; winner collection is tied to the finalized winning bid.

Server-timed closing & anti-sniping

FishBSE uses the live server-side auction state to determine whether a bid is timely. Qualifying bids near the end can extend the auction, so bidders should follow the updated FishBSE end time rather than a stale browser countdown.

Seller accountability

Sellers cannot bid on their own auctions. Canceling a scheduled/live auction after accepted bids cancels those bids, notifies affected bidders, and creates a seller auction-conduct warning under FishBSE policy.

Winner payment & recovery

After finalization, FishBSE can attempt the winning payment using the bidder's Stripe-authorized payment method. If additional action is required, the supported flow provides a payment-recovery window before non-payment is treated as final.

Records, status & privacy

FishBSE keeps auction, bid, payment, order, and conduct records for supported workflows while public bid history uses masked bidder identities. Notifications help with awareness, but the auction/order page is the authoritative place to check status.

Before you bid: review the item description, photos/video, fulfillment method, shipping cost, seller terms, and any visible clarification. A qualifying accepted bid can lead to an attempted winner charge through Stripe. Auction rules, cancellation/refund handling, conduct warnings, and payment recovery are explained in the FishBSE FAQ and remain subject to the FishBSE Terms of Service.
Our foundation

Our Core Values

FishBSE was built around a simple idea: the aquarium hobby is better when people can connect directly, treat each other fairly, and share knowledge responsibly.

Community First

FishBSE is built for hobbyists, breeders, coral growers, shops, and newcomers who want a place where relationships and shared knowledge matter.

Trust & Transparency

Clear listings, honest communication, useful transaction records, and respectful marketplace behavior help members make better decisions.

Responsible Fishkeeping

The welfare of aquatic animals matters. We encourage responsible ownership, accurate information, and legal and ethical trading practices.

Local Connections

Local trades can reduce travel for livestock, help hobbyists find nearby resources, and strengthen aquarium communities where people live.

Fair Access

FishBSE gives members more ways to discover listings and connect instead of limiting the hobby to a single store, platform, or price point.

Grow the Hobby

We want experienced keepers to share what they know, new hobbyists to learn, and local aquarium communities to become stronger over time.

Trust the payment infrastructure. Know the marketplace.

FishBSE does not ask members to trust a payment processor simply because our name is attached to it. For supported online transactions, Stripe handles payment processing while FishBSE focuses on the aquarium marketplace experience around it: listings, bidding, orders, shipping visibility, communication, reporting, and transaction status. That separation helps us use established payment infrastructure while building marketplace tools specifically for the aquarium community.

Marketplace Features

Multiple photos per listing
Local discovery and region filtering
Real-time community communication tools
Freshwater, saltwater, coral, plants, and equipment
Block and report tools
Auction listings and winner payment workflow

Safety & Responsible Trading

Illegal or prohibited species are not allowed.
Use FishBSE's reporting tools when a listing or user raises concerns.
Use good judgment and safe public locations for in-person transactions.
Clear photos, records, and communication help reduce misunderstandings.
Animal welfare and responsible ownership should come before convenience.

Buy. Sell. Auction. Grow the hobby.

Whether you are looking for your next coral, rehoming fish, clearing out equipment, selling locally, shipping to another hobbyist, or bidding in an auction, FishBSE is building the marketplace around the people who keep the hobby alive.
